In Greek mythology the three graces were the three goddesses of joy, charm, and beauty (whose names meant Splendor, Mirth and Good Cheer). The Graces presided over banquets, dances, and all other pleasurable social events, and brought joy and goodwill to both gods and mortals. (Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 99) The collective spirit of the graces inspired the name Three Graces Entertainment and Saphira's vision of cultural entertainment, consisting of original and authentic interpretation of international dances. About Saphira (Teresa Dickerson) Saphira is the recipient of the Lewisville Area Arts Council Achievement in Dance Award for 2005-2006
	As a university student, Teresa Dickerson enrolled in a modern dance class, and from that time on, she knew that dance would always be an integral part of her life. As she continued her dance studies, she was introduced to the world of Middle Eastern or belly dance and has pursued the study of this intriguing dance form since 1999. Teresa, now known in the dance world as Saphira, has studied under the direction of international dance masters, including Morocco, Mahmoud Reda, Aziza, Eva Cernik, Dalia Carella, Suzanna DelVecchio, Cassandra, Shareen el Safy, Ansuya, Zoe, Andrea La Canela and more. Saphira gives special credit and thanks to Samra of Virginia, who taught her the basics of belly dance and was her talented dance partner and co-owner of Three Graces Entertainment during 2001, its first year of establishment. By attending dance seminars and workshops frequently, Saphira continues her dance studies. In addition to studying, performing and choreographing, Saphira teaches Middle Eastern or belly dance classes in the Winston-Salem, Wilkesboro, and Boone NC areas. Saphira teaches workshops locally and also travels for workshop presentations She has also taught Middle Eastern dance workshops for organizations, businesses, and schools. Saphira not only books performances for herself and the Three Graces dance troupes, but also for talented Middle Eastern and Greek musicians, and the amazing EmberEllas, fire, poi, hoop and stilt performers. Saphira's beautiful costumes and her style of dance delight audiences. Audiences also find intriguing her use of various props, such as the sword, veils, cane, basket, fire, wings of Isis, shamadan and fan. Musical instruments include zills and spoons.
